Yoga for Busy Moms
Ok – let’s see a show of hands! How many busy moms out there have so much time on their hands that they just don’t know what to do with themselves? How many moms spend tons of quality time with their kids in a satisfying way that doesn’t involve driving them to and from events? And then there’s all that meaningful communication and life lessons to impart on your children, in between the time you say, you need some sleep! It’s a busy world out there with today’s parents trying desperately to balance all of the important factors of parenting with the day-to-day activities. So how can a busy mom possibly interact with their child in a positive way on a daily basis. One very powerful way is through the wonderful tool of yoga.
We all know that busy moms have little time for themselves, getting stressed out, and have to find ways to fit in quality time with their children. They may be tense from the day’s activities and not be getting enough exercise. Likewise, many children today need more time for exercise and tools to learn how to focus and find peace in their day. Yoga has long been a popular method to help people exercise, reduce stress, redirect thoughts, and relax. Doing yoga with your children, will be an opportunity to bring these wonderful benefits to both parent and child.
A wonderful and easy way to practice yoga with your child is to start with “a pose a day.” It can be a morning or evening ritual – a special bonding time where you will also be teaching lessons that will last a lifetime. You don’t have to get hung up on doing each pose exactly right – the important thing is spending time with your child and taking time away from your busy schedule. You’ll be amazed at how creative your child will be – and how they will look forward to this time together. This can truly be a family activity here you will have fun together, exercise together, spend quality time and open the doors to communication – what a novel thought in our busy world!
